Here’s a final entry for my Beijing trip! A shopping log of what I’ve bought! Nothing spectacular or fashionable, merely a lot of random items. HAH.
Pss. This entry is not particularly interesting and it’s way longer than I expected. I got too carried away posting pictures. You may want to skip it. HAHA.
The panda hat / cap / headgear (I have no idea what you call this thing) that I wore for 2 minutes and went Panda-crazy over it (I’m ashamed).
I bought a Peking Duck from the famous restaurant but it turned out to be salted duck. YIKES.
I really love the brown shoe, but it’s one size too small. Learning: Do not buy shoes when it’s 4 degree celsius out there!
These are alot cheaper in Beijing!
I heard from Steph it sticks really well. HAH.
I bought a kite. Yes. I squashed my kite into my luggage and brought it home.
He is obessed with Glee. Can you imagine? A guy who hates chick-flick and falls asleep during musical loves Glee! I had to watch it to find out why! It’s quirky, funny and the music is sweet. HAH. I’ve completed the first season and I love it!
These books are really cheap! It’s not the original copy! It’s only SGD 5 each! I’m interested in finding out more about men and bitches. HAHA.
I bought an Owl for our new place!
I bought a snow globe for Sue Ann! She collects them. Thinking that it’s fragile, I put it in my hand luggage only to have it confiscated by the not so empathetic custom officer. HMPH.
Dirt Cheap iPhone case bought just for the fun of it!
Earrings for the SSSS girls according to their favourite colours.
Random snacks my mum likes.
Interesting flavours! I like the cucumber ones best! The Jay Chou one is obviously for my sister. HAHA
I love Green Tea flavour best! I even got Victor who went for the second group to bring back eight more boxes! I’m a true green tea fanatic! HAHA.
Magnets for my boy who collects them!
This kite requires zero kite flying skills! It has got a series of 8 paper kites and you just need to run 3 metres and the kite is up in the air! Amazing!
A local home decor magazine to gather some inspirations from all over the world!
On the forth day, before our flight back to Singapore, we visited Wangfujing Food Street! If you’re into exotic food, you will love this place!
We tried the scorpion and it tasted like salted prawn.
Yes. These actually taste like prawns. HAH.
Ate some normal meat Kebabs.
Smelly Tofu.
These are average. You should try these…
Spicy Beancurd!
There are many random knick-knacks and souvenirs too!
I love the vibrant details!
JW allocated the main characters of “Journey to the West” to Steph, Waimun, himself and I. You don’t have to guess who is the “Er Shi Xiong” (Second disciple -The Pig). HMPH.
The climb up the Great Wall of China was the highlight of this entire trip! I’ve always wanted to climb up there! It’s one of the must see that I’ve set in my life amongst many other great UNESCO Sites.
Aww. I love it!
I’m sparing you guys from all the boring wiki facts about Great wall! I doubt this universe famous site (you can actually see it from the Moon) requires any introduction! So I’m going to flood this post with lots of pictures! I can’t get enough of it!
I look extremely fat in this picture! HMPH.
Look at the flowers! I think it is some sort of mountain cherry blossoms.
Still going strong!
Flowers again! I love them!
I thought we only aimed for the third tower! But we just kept going even on all fours!
It is definitely worth the climb!
Up up up.
We finally reached the end of the trail! The top of the route! The seventh tower! I guess all my gym sessions paid off!
Our victory pose!
Seven of us made it to the top. One of them was not in the picture because he finished it within 22 minutes (average man takes 30 minutes) while we were still walking up! Steph and I were the only two girls from our trip to made it all the way up! Girl Rocks!
We went up panting, came down shaking (our knees and legs!)
I bought a medal for myself with my name engraved on it. A medal for the true (wo)man.
It’s day three!
“The Temple of Heaven, literally the Altar of Heaven is a complex of Taoist buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing, in Chongwen District. The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. This temple was also inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998!”

We did a jump shot again!
A shot with our smiley MD!
We ended Day 2 with a blast at Mix Club (Inside Worker’s Stadium North Gate,
Gongti)! I love hiphop and R&B! I love great company!
“Tiananmen Square is the large plaza near the centre of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen (literally, Gate of Heavenly Peace) which sits to its north, separating it from the Forbidden City. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history, among which a gathering of pro-democracy protesters in 1989. The protest ended when hundreds of these protesters were killed by government troops in the streets leading from the square.”

We met Mr Mao and his wannabe at Tiananmen.
Standing in Glory.
Security is tight over here!
I love the misty effect.
Note: I didn’t forget to update on my Beijing trip, I’m just a little tied up recently. So here’s Day 2!
“The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing,China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost five hundred years, it served as the home of the Emperor and his household, as well as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government.”

I heard from JW the little hill behind us is man-made!
A very old tree.
They used this to tell time.
This was very the Kings used to sit at.
Look at the details!
My MD posted a question to me during our tour. How do you tell the gender between these two Ancient Chinese Lions? Go figure. It’s really simple.
It’s HUGE!
Most pictures were taken by Stephanie and edited by yours truly with “Auto-edit” function! HAH
Ever wonder what is it like to have a bunch of executive visiting the Land of Pandas but never had a chance to see a life Panda? They went into a state of Panda-mania for a split second.

We stayed in Novotel Beijing Xin Qiao and I think it’s good! Equipped with HBO / AXN means I get to watch CSI and movies at night! If they’ve got a bathtub then it would be perfect! They are located 20 steps away from the subway and walking distance from a shopping district, Wangfujing Street and many other tourist spots!
