Another pretty wedding invitation from my friend!

“After the betrothal meeting, both families will make wedding announcement to their relatives and friends by sending out “Double Happiness Cakes” along with wedding invitations. This is the Chinese style wedding cakes also known as “Dragon & Phoenix Cakes”. These are baked cake with dragon and phoenix imprint on the surface. Some styles have fillings made of lotus seed paste, red bean paste or green bean paste.
The wedding cakes are usually presented to the bride’s family by the groom’s family as part of the proposal gift. Bride’s family will then present some of the cakes to worship their ancestors and send the rest of cakes to friends and relatives along with wedding invitations.”

Instead of giving out “Dragon & Phoenix Cakes”, young couples these days are giving out westernized cakes like these! These are what my cousins gave out to our family!

Note: This will be the last post on weddings for the time being. HAHA. I am experiencing wedding-fatigue with all these wedding talks going on
What a pretty wedding invitation card! A dollar well spent!

The importance of wedding invitation card according to the bride-to-be – “Aiya, once in a lifetime, invite is like a sneak preview to the wedding so it should also look presentable.”
We (Him and I) organized a Brother and Sister Day with a Wedding theme in mind last Saturday for our caregroup members! Traditionally, this day is celebrated yearly to show our appreciation towards our brothers and sisters but this year we had it with a twist. Instead of showing appreciation to each and every individual, we had it to celebrate the union of Brother Ronald and Sister Huiru!

I had a harsh facial and got him to take a “soft blur” picture but the bad angle and the makeup-less face didn’t help at all!

Kissing attempt #32
It basically means giving silly gifts to the couple, then making them guess what the gifts are and lastly making them do “forfeits” when they can’t guess them! It’s almost like a prelude of the wedding day gate-crashing! The bride-to-be is a brainy one, she correctly guessed most gifts (including pregnancy test kit, aroma therapy kit, photo holder, massager, toilet bowl brusher, magic clean duster and princess sleeping mask!).

We had a great time at Spruce! We were there for high tea and their mouth-watering but pricey pastries and refreshing lemonade with mint leaves made my day! The tranquil environment at Phoenix Park together with the simple yet exquisite decors in the restaurant makes it an ideal location for a get together!
Urgh #1: I was asked to represent my division in our netball tournament. If only they knew about my dysfunctional family of body parts (My hands, legs and brain don’t exactly communicate)! URGH.
Urgh #2: My friend bought me a bridesmaid dress (I heard it’s pink, flirty short and it’s a tube dress .) with a huge flower hair band. The worst thing is she bought me a XS size. I was never a XS even if I only eat broccoli and drink nothing but water from now till December. URGH.
Urgh #3: I need to go on a serious diet and exercise regime but being gluten and a major procrastinator I doubt it will start anytime soon. URGH.
How should I accessorize myself in my bridesmaid dress?

P.S : Maybe I should refer to the ultimate bridesmaid reference – 27 Dresses – for greater inspiration!
In my earlier post, my cousin was deciding between these dresses for her bridesmaids, but after a long day of dress trying with the rest of the bridesmaid party, we made a decision!
This girly cream chiffon dress is our final pick!

Initially we have decided on this champagne gold outfit but with various constraints we opted for the chiffon one instead! I am glad we picked a dress that all the girls are pretty pleased with!

Thank you Frances for the dress!

I love Fann & Chris so much I had to buy both copies to read all about their wedding. Great. My cool factor is experiencing some downward trend.
The ‘I Do’ Garden Wedding event was held today – 20 09 2009 – at the Singapore Botanic Garden. It is the largest mass wedding solemnisation event in Singapore with more than 150 couples participating in it.
I didn’t particularly like any of the decorated pavilion and the idea of being a mere statistic on your wedding day.

The only decent wedding decor.

Interesting Hanging Decor.

My favourite pavilion but it wasn’t used or decorated.

The worst decor ever. It looks like a mobile temple.
P.S.: Babe, I hope he got solemnized at this temple.
All the bridesmaids involved in my cousin’s wedding were given an opportunity to vote for our preferred dress.
Dress 1: Simply Elegant

Dress 2: Girly Flirty

Make a guess which is the one I voted for.
