We bought more Scanteak stuff! A new TV console at $499! I love simple and clean lines.

Picture 002

My favourite! A drink trolley at the balcony! It is from their outdoor range and it has “wings” which can expand it’s surface area! Perfect “alfresco” dinning space! This is $499 too!

Total Damage: $998

We bought a Toshiba 40″ LCD TV (boring! But we are broke!) from the last IT fair. It went rainbow then black after 30 minutes! After calling their branch, we got a brand new replacement of a newer model! I guess we were kind of lucky that it went dead? Heh.

Total Damage: $639

We were supposed to start staying at our new home the beginning of this week to start working on our wedding planning every night we go home and to spend lots of quality time together! But looking at the amount of things I have in my room, the move will be a slow and painful one!

I am starting tonight on my “Keep, Donate or Chuck” exercise and I know it’s going to be a agonizing process.

Here are some rules I set for myself to decide if I should keep them or chuck them.

  1. Do I need this?
  2. Do I really need this?
  3. Do I have space for this?
  4. Does it match our décor theme (I know this sounds superficial, bimbotic and heartless, but I need to stay discipline to retain our theme.)
  5. Can he stand looking at this for the rest of his life? (HAHA. No, I’m not even talking about my smelly pillows. HAHA).

With these five rules, I bet I can donate / chuck a whole lot of stuff! Haha.

// I know I should be posting about my Shanghai Trip but all my pictures are with my colleague. Sad.

I’m going to share with you a little store I got recommended to at The Clementi Mall! It’s The Good Things! It sells mainly items sourced from the UK and other European countries! Some of the random things are also from Museums all over the world! I couldn’t resist and broke the bank for two little items for our new home!

It is located at the Third Level (the level linking from MRT linkway) and just right behind Starbucks!

The “S” is cut off. Oops.

You should spend some time reading this, really funny.

They sell random clocks and vintage posters.

This owl can so add on to my collection! But no, I resisted this.

photo (2)

But I couldn’t resist this! We always wanted a map for our study room and this is an interactive map! A scratch map! We will be scratching the places we visited together on this map! Yippee. This costs approximately $40 and it’s made in UK!

This other item I bought is the real bank breaker!

I always wanted a reindeer head in our house and I guess this is something that is more artsy, matches our Scandinavian theme a little and adds a splash of colours to our neutral tone home. It’s designed in Italy and made in Germany and it costs more than a $100 dollars. GULPED. Someone need to stop me. This is what happens when I shop alone.

A while back I spotted this article at Apartment Therapy and find them really creative! I’m so inspired and I can’t wait to start working on my Walk-In Wardrobe! Weee.

Did you realize I have been posting a lot of random and nonsensical posts? That’s because I can’t resist posting one home renovation post per week and I’m finally going to share with you on my curtains! YES! That’s why, I posted so many random posts hoping to “dilute” the home renovation content in SbR! Haha.

At this point, you may skip this post! I will also put a “More” link so that people who wish to find out more about my curtains can click to read on while others can painlessly skip them! Haha.

In most Scandinavian inspired home, their curtains are usually simple, fuss free and very neutral. To start off, we have a light day curtain that is draped from the ceiling to floor to create a higher ceiling look than if it is hang at the height of the balcony sliding door. This was an advice from Jimmy (our curtain man who happens to own Jimmy Textile! HAH). Indeed, I love the airy and “flow-ey” feel. I’m just a little worried about keeping it white when it’s just next to the balcony! Haha.

Our love nest is slowly taking the look of a Scandinavian style cafe. HAH! I intended to share about our curtains but our day curtain in the living room needed some alteration! Boo! Next time then!

This is not supposed to be in the living room but it being against the brick wall with the track lighting shining on it is a beautiful sight! Heh. We will put this in our bedroom! This is from Scanteak too! Scanteak = Scandinavian design in teak! HAH.

// Please ignore the dying potted plant. It was abandoned and he took pity of it and is trying to salvage it!

It was love at first sight. We love the tapered legs and the solid wood frame! The only things that we didn’t like was the green cushion covers it came with! We topped up a little to have it change to cream and it was perfect! (I’m ignoring the fact that it will be hard to maintain!) Oh by the way, it’s from Scanteak!

Back to boring but useful stuff, we bought a ceiling fan. Hah.

Previously, we shared our good buys at Ever Joint and this is one of our happy purchases! We shifted the power point from the living area to cover both living and breakfast counter area and viola! Our living area is now airy and livable! Haha. Love the fact that it is super quiet; remote controlled and has a temperature sensor!

Picture 019

It has got this useless light which can glow in blue. OMG. Not happening at my place. Haha.

Picture 014

Weee. It’s a V56K with 4 blades. See, I told you it’s boring. Hah.

Total Damage: $420 (including installation)
