He casually mentioned that we never tried roasting a whole chicken before, and after he said that I was spurred to take up the challenge!

I found a recipe in Epicurious which uses mainly lemon, honey and tarragon but because we do not have any tarragon, I simply follow the recipe without it!

Here is the final product! He was amazed! That night he gave the best compliment to my new domesticated self! According to him, “Do you know what is the best compliment to a chef? Not only did her patrons ate it all up and claimed to love it, it is the fact that there are chill sauce and other condiments at the side, the patrons choose not to use it!” Haha! I agree! But I thought it can be a little juicier if I stopped the oven at the last 10 mins! Sorry, I’m a perfectionist!

For the potato, it is nothing fancy. I simply sliced two russet potatoes, soaked it in salt water, greased the bakeware with butter, laid the potatoes, put some butter and pepper in between potatoes, laid more potatoes and covered it up with cheese and popped it into the oven! Haha. No recipe required.

Yums! It feels like a home cooked Christmas meal already! If you want to know the recipe we followed from Epicurious, you can click for more!

// I know I should be posting about my Shanghai Trip but all my pictures are with my colleague. Sad.

I’m going to share with you a little store I got recommended to at The Clementi Mall! It’s The Good Things! It sells mainly items sourced from the UK and other European countries! Some of the random things are also from Museums all over the world! I couldn’t resist and broke the bank for two little items for our new home!

It is located at the Third Level (the level linking from MRT linkway) and just right behind Starbucks!

The “S” is cut off. Oops.

You should spend some time reading this, really funny.

They sell random clocks and vintage posters.

This owl can so add on to my collection! But no, I resisted this.

But I couldn’t resist this! We always wanted a map for our study room and this is an interactive map! A scratch map! We will be scratching the places we visited together on this map! Yippee. This costs approximately $40 and it’s made in UK!

This other item I bought is the real bank breaker!

I always wanted a reindeer head in our house and I guess this is something that is more artsy, matches our Scandinavian theme a little and adds a splash of colours to our neutral tone home. It’s designed in Italy and made in Germany and it costs more than a $100 dollars. GULPED. Someone need to stop me. This is what happens when I shop alone.

A while back I spotted this article at Apartment Therapy and find them really creative! I’m so inspired and I can’t wait to start working on my Walk-In Wardrobe! Weee.

I’m thinking of either this (above) or this (below) for my walk in near my dresser. Hee.

I like this too! Maybe for our bedroom! I think it’s therapeutic to look at a tree first thing you wake up in the morning. All from Decorette!  I have an idea which is not there, something Scandinavian.

We were at a lighting shop (which I will share later) trying to communicate the look and feel we wanted to create to our place. Yes, Scandinavian loft and he actually understood us!

Spotted this in one of the window displays of Mango @ Ion! I want a dresser like this too! But I don’t have enough walls in the room to create this! AH!

We have been thinking of how we want our curtains and blinds to be like recently, here are some of our favourites.

Blinds like these for study room.

Soft ones like these for our living room.

Or simply ones like these.

Or an opaque blind for my walk in wardrobe or study room is fine too.

The only way to decide which type of curtains / blinds to use is when we try staying there for 24 hours observing where the sun comes in in the morning/afternoon. Till then, I’ll keep dreaming.

We saw this store at Cineleisure and it is exactly the look we wanted for our walk-in ware robe! The thing is, the owner of this store is my senior (acquaintance!) and he has a reputation for his carpentry skills back in  our Rag & Flag days!

I wish I could DIY this too! Can you tell it is from Ikea after his workmanship?

The rack below is useful for belts, scarves, hats and other accessories!

This is good for my bags!
