Diana

I finally succumbed to buying a Mini Diana lomo against his will! This will come in handy during our Taipei trip!

Welcome to Taiwan!

“Lomo is about becoming patient again, about enjoying the real process of shooting a photo with low stress and lots of fun.” – Andrew Standen-Raz, documentary filmmaker

My company had a lelong sale two days ago at our canteen! Bought a bunch of wines at $10 a bottle! Amazing!

Warning: A rant coming up!

I went to Bonito Chico’s mid year warehouse sale together with my sister and him. It was chaotic! The crowd is crazy; we queued for four hours before we could get into the freaking tiny Helipad club! Thankfully I bought 6 dresses (one which is too small!) and together with my sister we spent close to $220! The dresses are really cheap, ranging from $15 to $24!

The crazy crowd!

Crazy girl with injured ankle queuing for hours.

Crazy girl in four inches heel queuing for hours.

But I think they could have made the experience a whole lot better if they improved on the following!

The crazy place which is stuffy, dark and narrow.

The location they chose is far too dark (the spotlight is blinding, the natural light from the glass panel is insufficient, I can’t even see the colours of the dresses properly!) and far too narrow (there are no breathing space, we were standing so close to each other and I got scratched by a lot of the hangers when the girls are sqeeuzing their way through!)! They could have rented a hotel function room which is much more spacious with proper lighting!

I thought their colour tagging is good but their payment counter is way too inefficient! We are required to make payment to three sellers separately! I paid thirty over dollars to a lady, got my change, then another sixty dollars to another before paying hundred over dollars to the last lady at the cashier counter! This is far too inefficient! They could have recorded their sales using a book or keeping their tags instead of making us pay three separate times! This slowed down the whole process and makes it really confusing! At the end of the day, I don’t even know how much I’m paying! The worst is, because I paid together with my sister’s loots and they removed the colour tags, I have no idea how much each piece cost!

This just goes to show how unorganized the event was and I was kind of disappointed because it’s not the first time they are having such sales.

But I guess at the end of the day, when all the girls carried their cheap loots home while the BC girls earned some decent amount, no one is complaining. HAH. Will I come again next year? Maybe.

During lunch we came across this little booth, by Belle Maison Zakka, selling gorgeous vintage items and other whimsical stuffs. I love vintage whimsical stuffs!

It’s a really pretty booth with small trinkets and other decorative items. Geraldine, the owner, is really friendly. I got so much inspiration from this booth for my wedding!

Other than making my own cake stand, I would want a frame with chalkboard surface and those pretty cloth flags too! Really pretty!

I bought a pair of wooden letters and some pretty clothes peg! Hee.

We love Robinson Expo sale! They always have good stuff unlike John Little Expo sale which is often crappy! We bought a whole lot of cheap deals for our future home!

The champagne flutes come in a set of six and it cost only $15! One of our best buys! The original cost was about 50 odd! It’s heavy, comes with a crisp “cling” sound (my ultimate test for glassware) and the height is just right.

My favourite buy! These mugs with the vintage print of a blender are just right for our Scandinavian-quirky-cool-loft theme! It’s $15 for a set of four and we bought two sets! We will be serving our guests with these mugs!

His favourite buy, a tea pot! Erm. It is not exactly cheap but we are both tea lovers and he wants to bring em to his office!

These mirror frames are our second best buy! The original price was 30 odd and now it’s only selling at two for 20! Insane!

This is totally random but I once saw this recipe book stand in a magazine and I’ve been looking for one! The ones in Ikea don’t make the cut and I’m glad it’s only $11.50 for this! How awesome!

Sigh. All these purchases made me realize I’m a shopaholic! Even shopping for random household items makes me happy!

I bought these on a gloomy Monday! The green would be cuter if it’s matte.

Retail therapy always works when I’m trying to chase away the gloom! I bought three belts, two necklaces and a bag! I’m a happy girl!

These lovely belts were a little too small  so I made them stretch a little! HAHA.

More random necklace! A new heart necklace to replace my old heart necklace and a cute little amputated horse. HAH.

Love this bag! It has two different sides! But after I got home, I realized my wallet can’t fit into this little bag. HAH.

You will not have guessed. I bought all these items for $38! I love “budget shopping” a term coined by Wai Mun. Haha.

I didn’t know these hair bands existed until Stephanie wore them one day! It’s great if you don’t want to end up looking like Mrs Lion King after releasing your pony tail! Best of all, it only costs sixty cents each from some random shops!

I bought two necklaces yesterday! I’m a happy girl!

I have a strange obsession for Owls (which can be seen here, here and here) and I have no idea why. Probably it’s the big eyes or maybe it’s the mystical aural it gives out. Haha.

Always wanted something like this! He thought this necklace is more value for money compared to the owl necklace because it doubles as a watch! A typical guy! Haha.

Cottoncandy.sg is a local based online store which sells imported (mainly Korean) pretty little knick knacks!

One of my readers – Cheryl – asked where Stephanie got those pretty ballerina stamps from, so I thought I might as well share them openly here as a post in case some readers missed out on my comment reply. I totally adore the Ballerina, Fairy and Mountain Bird series! Pretty! Thank you Stephanie for sharing with us! Hee.
