January: I probably didn’t blog about this, but in January the Frontline opened with a blast during the CNY period and it was the busiest time of my life!

February: I join the Best Kiss Photo Contest organized by PETS magazine and won a photography session with Barley! But sadly, I didn’t manage to claim the prize! Boo! In February, SQ got engaged! We also celebrated our proposal anniversary at Sentosa and USS in this month!

March: Other than wedding planning, March was pretty uneventful. In March we popped by Malacca for a short break and got our Submission of Marriage Certificate to HDB deferred after several hassles and tussles with the customer service manager with poor service!

April: CW got engaged in April and we got our house key on 18 April! It is also the month where a series of unfortunate events happened during our pre-wedding photoshoot!

May: In May, I signed up for an 8 lessons Acrylic painting course at NAFA and totally enjoyed it! I was also picked to attend a conference in Jakarta for work! May is a painful month where I had my first wisdom tooth removed! Our home renovation also kicked in full force in May!

June: Our company brought us on a retreat to Shanghai – Hangzhou and it was a crazy shopping trip with all the girls! Next year, if we do get to go for a retreat, we must drag along the boys to be our porter! Haha. In June, Sue Ann got engaged! Finally all of us SSSS girls are officially off the shelves! Haha

July: I finally completed my painting class and my final painting is something I will always be proud off! Heh.

August: The highlight of my career! I won the “Young Executive of the Year” award which is an industry wide award and appeared on a news article looking all fat and frumpy. Bad picture! In August, I was also “promoted” to a new role and given greater responsibilities! August is also my favourite month, because it’s my birthday!

September: I was selected to visit Melbourne / Sydney on a study trip and to attend another conference! It is also my first time on a helicopter ride! We had our first Chinese wedding custom, Gou Da Li in September!

October: Our wedding on the 15th October 2011! A day we will never forget! I totally enjoyed myself at our church wedding! We also packed our bags and head to Italy for our honeymoon!

November: We set up our first Christmas tree and Barley turned three in November! Thank you for all the love and joy you brought us Barley! November month is Jason’s birthday too! Love you dear!

December: It’s a month of caroling, feasting and partying! It is also a month of hard work with the festive approaching!

I will miss the challenges and opportunities, the grace and mercy, the pain and joy, and all the love received in 2011! Thank you Mum(s), Dad(s), Sister, Brother, Grandma, Jason, friends, colleagues, bosses and everyone who made my 2011 so eventful!

2012, here I come!

First I was nominated by the management and I know for a strategic reason but I am both flattered and humbled. Then, I won it, without even half expecting to win it. It is a prestigious award in the industry and I am in shocked.

At the end of the event, I even won 5th place in the lucky draw. I have never NEVER won anything in a lucky draw, it must be my lucky night! 8 & 5 is my lucky number. With DOB 8885, Unit No 0858 and my invitation card 0558, I won’t the 5th prize! Haha. The prize is crazy amazing too! I won $1000 worth of travel vouchers (going to our honeymoon! Yay!), a Harrods hamper filled with awesome goodies and a Bosch Universal Food Processor (He knows I can’t afford a KitchenAid!) worth $1199!

The only draw back that night? The media took a picture of me looking bloated and plump and even published it the next day. ARGH!

OMG. I’m so blessed that night! It was crazy! In my head I was thinking, “Shit shit shit, someone, quick pinch me!”

Well wishes and congratulatory wishes came pouring in the next few days but I was already back to the “mere mortal” mode on the second day! Back to my hectic life!

I love August! This August there are so many exciting things happening in my life and gosh, it’s exhilarating! First off, today it’s MY BIRTHDAY! Thank you dear friends and families for the birthday wishes, midnight smses and facebook messages! I felt so loved! I took leave today and tomorrow it’s a Public Holiday! Yippee!

This is the classroom environment.

I was wondering where to put my brushes if I am sitting on the stool. Turns out, I had to stand for 3 hours straight while my paint brushes and palette gets to sit on the stool. BOO.

My first few line was quite accurate and I was quite happy with myself. Off to a good start!

But I got impatient and got all the angles all wrong. You will realized that my drawing is bigger than the actual size and certain position and angle of the cubes are all wrong. HAHA. I told the instructor it was a good drawing given my first attempt. He told me I’m in a delusional state. HAHA.

The cool instructor who sounded just like Lennel (in terms of tone, accent and voice). That peaceful voice. He is very low profile and claims that he does not own an email address or a mobile phone. The only mode of communication other than face to face is a land line at home. WOW.

Instead of Sketching, I signed up for Western Painting (Acrylic / Oil) and opted for Acrylic Painting! (He wished me luck in my attempt to fly before learning to walk.)  I always wanted to paint something for our new home. Whenever we see beautiful acrylic paintings, which often cost an arm and leg, I always imagine myself painting it! But the technicalities involved (e.g types of paints, flat / round brush etc) set me back.

Now, with all the tools purchased (I’m $100 + $300 poorer), I’m all set for my class come next Tuesday.

If my arts teacher from my primary / secondary school knows about my intention to sign up for this class back in the 90’s, they will surely stop me or my painting trainer. HAH.

1. To be lean and healthy.
I am still flabby and pudgy. Grrrr.

2. To put in extra effort in my dressing whenever I’m out of the door.
I guess I am dressier in 2010 than 2009 and I attribute that to more blog shopping! Haha. All that is going to change because in year 2011 I am wearing uniform, yes, you heard me.

3. To write compliment letters for praiseworthy service personnel.
I wrote four compliment letters in total for year 2010.

4. To stay positive.
I guess I am rather happy in the year 2010, except for a few grumbles at work and a few bicker with him, all else is wonderful!

This year, I am writing a New Year Resolution again, a more achievable one.
