I must be the only female in her tweens, teens or twenties who have not watched Twilight. Yes. I know. It was launched in 2008. HMPH.

I actually like it! I am blushing. GRR. No I do not fancy guys with pale face or blood red lips but the words coming from Edward Cullen’s lips were all so romantic.

# Fav. Line 1

  • Edward Cullen: I don’t have the strength to stay away from you anymore.
  • Isabella Swan: Then don’t.

# Fav. Line 2

  • Edward Cullen: I… I feel very protective of you.

# Fav. Line 3

  • Edward Cullen: I hate you for making me want you so much.

# Fav. Line 4

  • Edward Cullen: It’s like you’re my own personal brand of heroin.

With lines like these, I don’t think any girls can resist falling for Edward (minus his pale face and red lips)! My heart breaks whenever I see how painful he looks. GOSH. I hate myself for blushing and swooning like a sixteen year old for a fictitious character too young for my liking!

Watched the Gala Premiere of Alvin & the Chipmunks 2 yesterday all thanks to the free tickets from my company!

The storyline was mediocre but the Chipmunks and Chipettes were way too adorable! I was given four tickets and my sister’s friend Marcus came with us too!

Sci-Fiction has never been my favorite movie genre. I am more of the chick-flick and “Ooo, give me the brainless movies” kind of girl. But James Cameroon’s latest creation wowed me with the beautiful digital images and reality-reflecting storyline. You must be wondering what has Aliens got to do with us, the “Sky People”. Haven’t you heard of greedy corporate figurehead robbing people’s lives and homes for money and wealth in reality? In Pandora, the greedy corporate figurehead together with the restless Colonel moved forward their ruthless extermination strategies, killed native tribes and robbed them of their peaceful home and heritage for precious materials.

SIGH.

This show is good for both genders! There is a beautiful love story and a happily ever after ending! HAHA. Go watch it! 4.7 / 5 stars!

I’ve watched The Princess and the Frog and was rather disappointed with the tragic (Exaggerated for special effect) ending the princess got herself into even after marrying her prince. She spent all her life savings to set up a business and had to work really hard for the rest of her life!

I know I know. I heard your BOOS from afar. I heard you, Feminist. Yes, I heard you, worrying parents whose only wish for their girl is to not grow up like me having wistful dreams about meeting their prince then live happily ever after and the end, without all the hard work. I know. I know. I mean, a girl can always dream! I dream, I dream, just one day, someday just any day, I’ll meet my prince, live happily ever after and be happy always and the end without all practical activities to keep up with reality.

*PI-AH*

Right. Wake up the idea Serene! I’ve got to learn from Princess Tiana! To save up and build my own dream that is to see the world and be happy always!

On a side note, the voodoo magician and his friends from the “other side” are a little creepy eh?!

Remember a while ago I wrote a post about a talented local singer – Jean Tan? Cowboy Caleb thinks she is good too!

M18.

I got a pair of free tickets to the sneak preview of Ninja Assassin from my cousin and so I brought my baby brother along for the show. After eating BK (kids love fast food huh?!) we headed straight for the show.

IMG_0467

And I took the usual, me with the movie poster picture…

IMG_0469

… and after the picture taking, my brother calmly said, “This show is M18.”

M18!!!!!!!!!! He is freaking 15!!!!!!! AHHHH.

I tried and failed terribly in trying to sneak him in and so we were literally kicked out of a free movie. Gosh. This is the most depressing day of the week but we made another couple happy. One man’s loss is another man’s gain.

URGH.

dreamz

Remember a while back I got some cheap DVD/VCD from a bazaar sale? I finally found time to watch it. The American Dreamz is the most, THE MOST, retarded show I’ve ever, EVER seen. THE MOST RETARDED. I can’t believe Hugh Grant actually agreed to be part of the show. His cute factor just went down by 32 points. I’m in shocked. I can’t even pull myself together to share the storyline with you guys. It was just BAD. Don’t ever, EVER, watch it. The worst part of the show? They freaking blow up Hugh Grant. Like BOOMZ. EXPLODE! OMG! I can’t believe this.

I had a movie date with my sister. It has been a while since we last hang out together and I’ve got to admit, it’s kind of nice. Since both of us are from the authentic-junk-food family, we exhibited our family traits through trafficking massive amount of junk food through the movie customs. How can simple popcorns and nachos fulfill our needs!?

P1090421

Adding to our cholesterol level, we had artery-blocking fried chicken from Colonel Sanders. GOSH. What happened to my broccoli and water diet!?

p1090422

I was surprised we were tearing water-based tears instead of oozing out oil-based liquids from our eyes throughout the show. Enough of the gory description, we’ll talk about the show - My Sister’s Keeper – proper.

To describe the story as tragic is an understatement. It caused a catastrophic phenomenon in the theatre with hundreds and thousands of people weeping and snuffling all at a rhythmic pattern every 5 to 10 minutes. GOSH.

Conceived by means of in vitro fertilization, Anna was brought into the world to be a genetic match for her older sister, Kate, who suffers from acute promyelocytic leukemia. Anna knows if she donates a kidney, she will be unable to live the life she wants; she will no longer be able to take part in extracurricular activities such as cheerleading and soccer, or be a mother. Her family members are introduced one by one and each tell about how Katie’s illness has affected them personally and the family. When Kate turns 15, she goes into renal failure. Knowing that she will have to donate one of her kidneys to her sister, Anna sues her parents for medical emancipation and the rights to her own body.

I spent six dollars to turn up for work with puffy eyes, what more can I say?

After the film, I immediately regretted eating the Carcinogens-filled chicken. Having to die of cancer is such a excruciating process that I wish no one I know (including myself) would have to suffer in his/her lifetime. SIGH.

“Sweet and easygoing Eun Ho grew up in a normal middle-class household with a strict and traditional father. Willful plastic surgeon Ki Baek was born into a wealthy family, and has the ego to match his income. Their two worlds collide quite literally when they meet through a paragliding accident. It’s a classic case of opposites attract as they fight, falter, and fall in love, but their incompatible families are determined to break them apart.”

This film bears certain similarities to girls-gone-crazy-drama Boys over Flower except in this show, the guy is much nicer and there were less heartaches and more funny moments.

It was hilarious, sweet, gorgeous, charming, and oh his smile. Right. I’m still talking about the show and not the lead actor – Ha Seok-jin – who is coincidently equally hilarious, sweet, gorgeous, charming and oh his smile.

Right. About the show. You will love this film if you are into Korean dramas minus the wait and suspense in a typical TV series. This is after all a 115 min film. Released in 2007, this film was also adapted into a TV series.

I love shows with a happy ending!

A dollar well spent! I’m a happy girl!

I bought two movies (DVD & VCD) from a bazaar sale at a mall this afternoon. They were clearing their old rental movies and I got them at $1 – $2.50 each! HAH. Being a movie junkie and an individual who detests the idea of watching movie uncomfortably over laptop, I am a happy girl with my cheap finds.

There’s only one reason why I picked these two titles (Unstoppable Marriage and American Dream) out from a mountain of old random films. Cute guys. You can’t go wrong with eye candies. HAH. I love Hugh Grant, he is so charming and the cute Korean guy on the cover totally stand out from the other movie titles with floppy-hair-male-leads from the 90s.
