Here’s the proposal story from the lady that you guys have been waiting for! Nothing fancy but a sweet and blissful proposal.

The girl got the key to the hotel room, opened the door and started giggling when she saw a bunch of roses sitting on the table.

Me: “Why are there flowers?”

Him: “Eh, you didn’t know the hotels gave every room a bouquet of flowers in Disney Resort?”

Me: (still giggling. freaking. this. is. it.)

Him: “Baby, will you marry me?

Me: (giggling and grinning widely)

Him: (on one knee) “Baby, will you marry me? Cause I spent a lot on your ring and we’ve already bought a HDB.” (He meant this as a joke.)

Me: (I almost fainted from heart attack) This is your line? You didn’t prepare your lines! (Still giggling)

Him: “I am willing to be your frog forever and ever.” (HAHA. Remember the “private joke” about the frog?)

Me: (still giggling) But frog does nothing but croaks.

Him: (slipped the ring into my forth finger on my left hand)

That was it.

HAHA. Thinking back. I’ve not exactly said “I DO”. After THE Proposal, we just went into a photo-taking-craze!

We re-enacted the proposal scene (actually I remember I was standing).

Ok. I think you kind of get the feel of our photo-taking craze. It’s probably one of the rare SbR entries with numerous pictures of me. YIKES.

Here’s an introduction to the lovely “props” that made the proposal different! HAH.

Flower

329

He is not exactly a flower person. But I love flower. I love receiving them. I love giving them. I love looking at them. I’m going to buy a bunch of flowers every week when I get my own place!

He always wanted to get simple flower bouquets with “long-stem” arrangements but whenever he asked the florist in Singapore, they gave him a “you trying to be funny ah boy” look. This bunch of flowers is precious to me. They are the biggest bunch he has ever given to me and he went through many email chains and days trying to communicate his preference to the Non-English speaking hotel representative. He almost died.

Silhouette

296

I love this silhouette so much I wanted to get it when I first saw it. But it is crazy expensive. He thought it was stupid. Paying so much for a black picture which doesn’t even resembles us. I kept looking at it longingly and he caved in. Hee. Happiness!

Frog

291

I saw this frog at a store and it reminded me of him. It’s super cute and I just had to get it. I gave this to him at Disneyland (before the proposal) to thank him for organizing such a wonderful holiday which was truly enjoyable!

Rock

320

Yes. I am finally talking about the rock (With pictures from various angles too!).

321

Side View. I love the arch that holds the rock.

I love the setting. It’s perfect. I always wanted a ring with diamond encrusted at the sides. Solitaire is not exactly my thing. I love LOVE LOVE this. It’s classy, elegant and simply breathtaking. HAHA. Ok. I am bias and am exaggerating it a little. The ring is neither from Tiffany nor Cartier but it is perfect, at least to me. He handpicked the rock and got a private jeweler to set it. Inside the ring, he engraved the date of our anniversary – 14 October 2005.

322

Top View. I need some hand cream. GASPS.

324

More technical characteristics about the much hyped about rock.

Carat: .55
Colour: E
Cut: Perfect Cut. Triple Excellent.
Clarity: VSII

Regardless of the characteristics, this rock is perfect.

P.S. SbR is going to take a break from blogging after this entry. My computer overworked. I can smell something burning!! HAHA.  Entries about Disney Sea, Hakone, “All that we Ate” and my Shopping Log will be posted at a later date. Till then, I’m going to the gym tomorrow and I’ve got a flaunting session on Thursday and Friday. HAH. Stay tuned!

P.S. Contents edited after final verification.

I caught a virus in Tokyo – The Engagement Virus.

I’m engaged! I said YES on the 23.02.2010 (Sorry for not hearing the news first hand from me on the day itself, overseas SMS-es are costly!). I’m excited to share the proposal story and all ready to flaunt my rock! I’m staying engaged for a while, at least for the next couple of years!

SO. Is anyone throwing me an engagement party?!?!

Ok. I’ve said it all. Up next, to update on my trip before I go crazy on all the (not in the near future) wedding planning! HAH.

P.S. Going to try posting this entry at the top for a few days in case my friends missed it after I post all the travelling entries.

He just made it more official via Facebook. HAH.

I’ve got bad throat and he bought this for me. How sweet! But it’s not exactly Perrier. It’s flat and has zero oohmz. HAH.

This year we didn’t bother with Valentine’s Day celebration. There was no present, no fancy dinner or pretty dress. It was a casual, sloppily dressed late night date at a neighborhood mall, a random movie and a laid-back meal. It was perfect.

It was neck-breaking and eyes-burning movie experience. Reason? We sat on the first row! HAH.

Baby, you’re my Valentine.

I love him.

I love it when he brings medicine to me when I am feeling ill. I love it when he dissolves them in water the way I like it. I love it when he shows extra care when I’m ill and whiny.

I love him!

I bought a pretty love letter necklace from Quixotic Inc, an online accessories shop I got introduced to! This is a little Valentine’s Day present for myself, to remind me of the One who truly loves me and His Agape Love.

IMG_4291

I love the vintage feel of this necklace! It makes it precious.

He shared this verse with me today,

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man.”

It was his birthday but I received more presents than he had! GEEE. I love you!

I always believe how colourful ahem influence your mood when you wear one! I love Victoria’s Secret’s colourful ahems.

Finally the chick!

Detailed gift wrapping is so Japanese and it’s so pretty and cute! But it’s a little excessive and not very environmental friendly.

Thank you my sweetie-honey-baby-pie!

(Note: He totally can’t stand it when I call him this. HAHA)

He just got back from the states yesterday and I missed him dearly! It was supposed to be a mini birthday surprise with an intention to embarrass him! Instead of embracing me in a hug after being apart for an entire week, he looked away pretending not to know me. HMPH. Of course, I forced him to hold the card and took a picture anyway. HAHA.

[Please pardon my chui look. It was 1.45 am without makeup. ]

[Please pardon his chui look. It was a long flight.]

Aside from this mini surprise, I made him truffles (Walnut, Almond, Raisin and Baileys flavored truffles with some changes made to this recipe) and bought him expensive tea leaves from TWG (more about this later). HAHA.

HAPPY POST BIRTHDAY!
