After seeing these pretties (from Bobbin, London) at Fashion Nation, I was left stranded with some disturbing image of Cat – the girl in London – looking grumpy and helpless after being dissed by the cranky old lady over at the post office following her catastrophic attempt in trying to send the paper-wrapped bicycle to a faraway place in Asia.

I envy those individuals who are capable of looking stylish on a bicycle instead of looking like a countryman or a health freak in shorts a little too tight. With these pretties, looking chic would definitely be a lot easier than riding on a clumsy mountain bike. I will definitely cycle to work if someone gets me one of these!

I’ve committed a crime that no fashionista would, picking comfort over style!

I am now a proud owner of Crocs – a pair of rubbery-nonslip-waterproof- lightweight shoes! These shoes are meant for my walking-intensive and hazard-prone working requirement/environment (I don’t work as a sweeper, in case you are wondering)!

All the bridesmaids involved in my cousin’s wedding were given an opportunity to vote for our preferred dress.

Make a guess which is the one I voted for.

blogshop

Best of Blogshops
#01-62 & #04-52(A) Far East Plaza, 14 Scotts Road
Tel: 6836 9648.

This interesting shop which was recently featured on Weekend Today caught my attention. Newly opened (ok, I am a Noob, it’s not THAT new) in Far East Plaza, Best of Blogshops carries clothes from various local online blogshops such as Tracyeinny and Runway Bandits.

Headed down with an expectation to find some chic affordable pieces I was disappointed. Yes, the usual benefits of brick and mortar such as, ability to feel and try on the clothes, instant enjoyment of purchases and ability to mix clothes from various labels exist but the lifeless clothes on the rack and messy display drowned all initial excitement. I still very much prefer the comfort and liberty of shopping online in my pyjamas 24/7 and the excitement of receiving and ripping the parcels apart.

coco_avant_chanel

This film, staring Audrey Tautou, is not just a biopic of Coco Chanel’s rise from her obscure beginnings to the heights of creating a fashion empire.

It is also a film about an inspiring woman with great passion and strength. Her passion for style, love and life can be felt throughout the show with impactful quotes like, “Fashion fades, only style remains”. With an extraordinary passion for creating stylish and comfortable clothes and clothes for women instead of men’s viewing pleasure, Coco Chanel bears the likes of a fashion feminist – breaking social norms and opinions. Coco is also a woman who finds strength in failures, an inspiring woman indeed.

Now women have stronger and more justifiable reasons to own a piece (2.55!) of her style (and strength). Women carrying Chanel(s) can be inspired to do great things. HAH. It is probably one of the most remarkable marketing campaigns seen in the fashion industry.

They love my fan!

After my epic experience with Hervé Léger (wannabe), I left my readers curious of my final decision.

In the end, I decided on a lace shift dress (The Dress) which gives out a conservative yet classy feel. The Dress also exudes the style of Audrey Hepburn which is complemented with pretty lace details. Oriental accessories were also worn to create excitement (drama-ma-ma) and glam to complete the look.

I love my hot red heels.

I was trying to search for the perfect dress (Within 2 hours. I hate work life.) for my Commencement dinner and I must say, it wasn’t too fruitful. When I am finally generous enough to reward myself to a perfect dress, I couldn’t find any. I even toy with the idea of buying a dress from my favourite online store, The Scarlette, but their rising popularity means someone will definitely be spotted in their dresses.

One lesson to be learnt in my 2 hours shopping stint is that not everyone (at least not the ordinary folks like us) can fit into a Hervé Léger (original/inspired) bandage dress.

(Hmm. This model remains me of my corpse sad bride friend.)

Upon trying on the various HL inspired dresses from Zara, F21 and other random few, I’ve concluded that I’ll just ended up looking like over-stuffed rice dumpling instead of looking hot like Joanne Peh.

Note: If you spot me in a frumpy looking dress, please, just leave me alone.

A while ago (probably 3 months ago) Iora, a local women’s fashion retail chain, gave $50 vouchers (with no minimum purchase required) to some female students (cause it was while stock last!) in my school as a form of goodwill and with the purpose for students to tide over such difficult time.

I was one of the lucky beneficiaries! After purchasing a blouse and a necklace with the $50 voucher, I felt it is only appropriate if I express my appreciation to them. Here goes, thank you Iora!
