Barley is in the house! My house! She is on a staycation! She is here to stay for a week! One entire week! Yippee! Oh, but my sister is suffering from some anxiety attack. I hope she will get through this week stronger and overcome her dog-fearing self! Haha.

She is really mischievous! I sat on the sofa and she jumped right up! I had to bring her down thrice and scare her with a “newspaper-rod” to make her stay grounded (literally). Oh, can anyone recommend something to whiten Barley? She is turning brown! GASP. HAH.

This post came a little late but I’ve got to document this down in SbR. My sister promised to give me a wedding shoe for my birthday cum wedding present! I requested an IOU in case she forgets and she presented this to me! Awww. Now, I will never forget! HAHA. Did I tell her I need two wedding shoes? HAH.

Dim Joy

My family celebrated my birthday at Dim Joy (my sister recommended this place after reading Lady Iron Chef!) ! It was yummilicious but a tat pricey!

Thank you sister! Love her new center parting hairstyle! She carries it well! As for my new bangs, I’ll talk about it in another post! HAH. Some drool worthy dim sum!

I love my crazy family! It’s a love hate relationship. HAH.

Instead of helping me plan my wedding, my sister is already planning to take over my bedroom. GRRRR.

I am only moving out next year so stop dreaming!

My sister is finally home! She didn’t really change, still the same old, silly, spendthrift and fashion conscious little sister! Our whole family misses her so so much! I’m glad you are back sister!

Look at the number of luggages she brought back! And this is not all! Some of her loots and bulky items are with her friends!

My granny spent the whole afternoon whipping up her favourite delights! Chili Crab, Fish head curry etc etc. It felt like a mini reunion dinner! Haha. I miss her company! We spent our night watching movie and sleeping in my room!

Remember a while back, I took part in NFC’s National Family Celebrations 2010 through Nuffnang’s Blogger Family Pledge Movement? Through the contest, I won a set of Luge and Skyride tickets and another set of Hippotour tickets for my family! Since my brother is having his ‘O’ level examinations and my sister is away, I shared these tickets with my grandma, aunts, uncles, niece and nephew! [This post is uber long with tons of pictures!]

My parents went to pick up my cousin and her family so we had to take the Sentosa express! Our first time on the Sentosa express which is no different from LRT or Disneyland’s monorail.

Arrived at the carnival earlier than expected!

Off lazing around at the beach while waiting for the rest!

I love beaches!

Having icecream to beat the heat!

Exciting!

First the luge then the skyride!

On your mark!

Weee!

I agree!

The skyride!

Dylan was kind of nervous when handling the snake but boy, he is a courageous one! I bet my sister can’t do this!

I kissed a Merlion!

The heat is crazy! He had to get a SUPER BIG GULP!

Then we hopped on a Hippo bus when my other aunts and grandma came along!

We had a long but fun day!

Family outing is not really his cup of tea and I was a little guilty dragging him along! Thank you baby! I can’t promise I won’t drag you into this the next time but I really do appreciate your effort! Love you!

A while back, I made a pledge in collaborations with NATIONAL FAMILY CELEBRATIONS 2010 (NFC 2010) under Nuffnang‘s Blogger Family Pledge Movement and now my sister has got something to say! Here’s a pledge from my crazy little sister!

“I pledge to prioritise my family above my friends when it comes to spending quality time. I pledge to chat with my grandma daily and compliment her on her cooking (to encourage her to cook more often)! I pledge to talk to my parents more often, other than the normal TV/dinner time slot. I pledge to organise more family outings and engage the whole family at it. I am sure I can pull off a BF (bitch fit) if any family member refuses to cooperate! HAHA! I pledge to be an understanding and helpful sister to my younger brother who is still in a tricky, growing up stage. Finally, my sister. I pledge to go shopping with her more often and be less critical of each other. Yeap, that’s all. Looks easy but it sure takes much effort! Wish me luck!?”

I totally miss and love her! Come home soon!

NATIONAL FAMILY CELEBRATIONS 2010 (NFC 2010)

Organised by the National Family Council, National Family Celebrations is an annual event which celebrates and reinforces the importance of families and family life. This year, Singaporeans are encouraged to make a personal commitment to their families by being a part of the Singapore Family Pledge Movement.

To provide opportunities for Singaporeans to follow through on the pledges to their families, there are a myriad of activities under the NFC 2010 calendar – which will interest the young, the old, and everyone in between! NFC 2010 will be held from 25 May to 26 June 2010, and this year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Celebrations. For more information on NFC 2010, visit www.nfc.sg

I think in Asia’s context, parents find it hard to express their love for their children openly and it’s really up to us children, to express our love for them to keep our family ties strong!

The last time I went to the zoo, bird park, science centre or any other local attractions is probably before I learn how to spell “Submarine” (This word is special to me because my brainy sister once brags to me just because she can spell submarine but I can’t. I used “Spelling deficiency” as an excuse.) so taking Nuffnang’s opportunity to bond with my family, I’ve decided to take part in their Blogger Family Pledge Movement!

“I pledge to spend more time talking to granny after work. I pledge to eat the durians my Dad bought without complaining about my increasing waistline (even if just 1 seed). I pledge to help my mum spell words and help her vet through her grammar without turning into a grumpy old lady. I pledge to pray more for my problematic brother and encourage him more. I pledge to bug my sister more often just to talk to her. I pledge to spend more time with his family even if it’s just watching TV and eating fruits.”

I know it’s a long pledge but I will fulfil each of them. Go pledge yours today!

I can’t wait for my sister to come home! It seems like yesterday when we were sending her off at the airport! I miss my ditzy, loud and supportive sister! Come home quick my spendthrift sister!

It’s mother’s day! I brought my mummy to Two Chefs and bought his mum some flowers! Happy Mother’s Day!
