I think in Asia’s context, parents find it hard to express their love for their children openly and it’s really up to us children, to express our love for them to keep our family ties strong!
The last time I went to the zoo, bird park, science centre or any other local attractions is probably before I learn how to spell “Submarine” (This word is special to me because my brainy sister once brags to me just because she can spell submarine but I can’t. I used “Spelling deficiency” as an excuse.) so taking Nuffnang’s opportunity to bond with my family, I’ve decided to take part in their Blogger Family Pledge Movement!

“I pledge to spend more time talking to granny after work. I pledge to eat the durians my Dad bought without complaining about my increasing waistline (even if just 1 seed). I pledge to help my mum spell words and help her vet through her grammar without turning into a grumpy old lady. I pledge to pray more for my problematic brother and encourage him more. I pledge to bug my sister more often just to talk to her. I pledge to spend more time with his family even if it’s just watching TV and eating fruits.”
I know it’s a long pledge but I will fulfil each of them. Go pledge yours today!
NATIONAL FAMILY CELEBRATIONS 2010 (NFC 2010)
Organised by the National Family Council, National Family Celebrations is an annual event which celebrates and reinforces the importance of families and family life. This year, Singaporeans are encouraged to make a personal commitment to their families by being a part of the Singapore Family Pledge Movement.
To provide opportunities for Singaporeans to follow through on the pledges to their families, there are a myriad of activities under the NFC 2010 calendar – which will interest the young, the old, and everyone in between! NFC 2010 will be held from 25 May to 26 June 2010, and this year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Celebrations. For more information on NFC 2010, visit www.nfc.sg
