Intimate Weddings is amazing, they have got some cool DIY tutorials teaching you how to DIY Wedding Programs (here too) and make your own Cake Stands! Cool stuff!

After resisting to blog about wedding for an entire week, it’s finally our series of “I love Wedding Blog” before we enter into the new week! I’m keeping this really short! I love Bridal Buzz‘s DIY wedding and party ideas! Beautiful yet practical ideas can be found here!

Here’s one of my favourite! I love vintage blue glass jars but I’ve not come across any of these here, but don’t fret, here’s a cheat sheet for you girls! A tutorial to turn a regular transparent glass jar into beautiful “vintage” aqua jar!

I want to make this! But first I need to find a nice vintage book! This wedding idea is from Ruffled!

What you’ll need:

  • Vintage book (I think there will be a few hiding in Salvation Army’s thrift store!)
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Xacto knife
  • Ribbon

Instructions:
Step 1: Choose a book that has special meaning to you or your relationship. Or perhaps is the color(s) of your wedding.
Step 2: Turn to almost halfway through your book (a little less than half), and draw a small two inch box center right (toward the outside of the book).
Step 3: Using a straightedge and an xacto knife, follow the guide of your box and begin slicing through along the lines. You will want to press down hard and go over each line over and over, so that you go through as many layers as possible. I would recommend cutting over each line at least six times.

Step 4: Once that is done, you can pop out the paper, revealing your hollowed out box. You may have to repeat step 3 several times to get the desired deepness for your “box”. Remember it only has to be as deep as the rings that will be going inside of it.
Step 5: Now slip a ribbon through the cut box (making sure to go through all of the pages that are cut).
Step 6: Slip the rings onto the ribbon and rest them inside your hollowed box. Close book and tie ribbon with a bow.

I am going to be a DIY bride! I know my venue rental and food is going to cost me an arm and leg, I will need to save on everything else!

So here’s a gorgeous DIY from Projectwedding.com which I saw at welovelaughkiss! I’m going to make this for my bridal entourage as wrist corsages!  For friends who are not getting married, you can make these pretty flowers for DIY headbands!

For this project you will need fabric – we used chiffon and tulle. Yardage needed will vary based on the number and size of flowers, as well as the fabric thickness. You’ll also need a piece of paper, a pen, scissors, pins, needle and thread, glass seed beads, and a plain hair clip or comb.

To make a stencil first free hand a rose petal shape and cut out. Then retrace it five times on a larger sheet of paper to create a full flower shape. This will help you get an even pattern. Cut out pattern.

Take some fabric and fold it into a square a little larger than your flower pattern. Pin the pattern to fabric and carefully cut out. Repeat this process until you have enough layers to make a full flower – the number of layers will vary depending on the weight of your fabrics and the size of your flower. The example shown here uses 26 layers.

Stack flower cut outs, alternating fabric types and staggering petals. Use a needle and thread to secure them together at the center.

Pinch together the center of the flower (from the bottom) and secure with stitches to create volume and give the flower and authentic shape. If desired you can sew decorative beads in the inside center of the flower.

TADAH! A pretty flower!
