I’m back with the “I love Wedding Blogs” series! Sorry Ian, please bear with the un-fun wedding entry! Haha!

I recently chance upon this newly setup blog and I love the modern, city-chic weddings they featured! I mean we lived in a modern, city-chic country how can I not love them! I’m sure this new site has a lot of potential, so keep a look out for them!

I am going to be a DIY bride! I know my venue rental and food is going to cost me an arm and leg, I will need to save on everything else!

So here’s a gorgeous DIY from Projectwedding.com which I saw at welovelaughkiss! I’m going to make this for my bridal entourage as wrist corsages!  For friends who are not getting married, you can make these pretty flowers for DIY headbands!

For this project you will need fabric – we used chiffon and tulle. Yardage needed will vary based on the number and size of flowers, as well as the fabric thickness. You’ll also need a piece of paper, a pen, scissors, pins, needle and thread, glass seed beads, and a plain hair clip or comb.

To make a stencil first free hand a rose petal shape and cut out. Then retrace it five times on a larger sheet of paper to create a full flower shape. This will help you get an even pattern. Cut out pattern.

Take some fabric and fold it into a square a little larger than your flower pattern. Pin the pattern to fabric and carefully cut out. Repeat this process until you have enough layers to make a full flower – the number of layers will vary depending on the weight of your fabrics and the size of your flower. The example shown here uses 26 layers.

Stack flower cut outs, alternating fabric types and staggering petals. Use a needle and thread to secure them together at the center.

Pinch together the center of the flower (from the bottom) and secure with stitches to create volume and give the flower and authentic shape. If desired you can sew decorative beads in the inside center of the flower.

TADAH! A pretty flower!

I’m back with “I Love Wedding Blogs” series and I’ve got a whole list of blogs waiting to share with all my readers who may be getting married or simply loves beautiful things!

“Welovelaughkiss” is set up by an attentive, creative and loving couple who strives to create a beautiful and unique outdoor wedding! The groom – Winston – is an engineer by day while the bride – Hellen – is a designer. You can really observe their partnership in action with Winston’s attentive nature and Hellen’s creative ideas and hands on approach!

Congratulations Winston and Hellen!

P.S. Hellen recommended an awesome Wedding DIY site which I will be posting in a while!

I’m back with a new blog feature for the “I love Wedding Blogs” series and this time round I’m featuring one of my favourite local wedding blogger – Miss Ene!

Chronicles of a Wedding is a blog set up to record Miss Ene’s wedding preparation leading up to her wedding on May 2009. Even after her wedding, Miss Ene continues to blog about her marriage life, her friend’s wedding and other sweet little things she shares with her husband. Unlike other commercial wedding blogs which focus mainly on wedding vendors and people’s beautiful wedding, her blog seems more personal, like a sharing from a friend.

chronicles of a wedding

I am not a selfish bride-to-be for I love all things beautiful! I love that people are placing extra efforts in creating beautiful weddings even in an island filled with cookie-cutter wedding vendors which strongly discourage personalization.

In this new I love Wedding Blogs series; I am going to share with all brides-to-be out there some of my favourite wedding blogs both local and international! It’s also a strategy to entice friends of marriageable age to join my club just so I have a few more people to share, discuss, gripe and bitch about all things related to Weddings.

stylemeprettylogoSo here goes. Style Me Pretty is my top favourite! I love the gorgeous weddings they feature and the fact that they are mainly outdoor weddings! I love outdoor weddings! I always dream of walking down the aisle in a meadow of flowers or at the side of a gorgeous beach! But of course, we don’t have any of these here but a pretty garden wedding is more than sufficient! Style Me Pretty is my source of inspiration in crafting a perfect outdoor wedding with lots of DIY décor!
