I found this “6 Beauty Mistakes that are bad for your Skin” list here and gosh, I scored a three and a half out of six! This is bad.

  • Exfoliating too much (yeah, I like the squeaky clean feeling)
  • Sleeping with your makeup on (this is a big no NO, even I know this)
  • Not using sunscreen (erm when I don’t bother with my BB cream which comes with UV protection)
  • Washing with hot water (mmmm, I love hot steamy showers!)
  • Using expired beauty products (I keep them till I use them all up, but I hardly use them, so gosh.)
  • Neglecting your neck (I love my neck and I do not neglect them!)

A few of my friends recommended Hada Labo – a Japanese beauty care brand. Apparently it is all hyped out in the forums and even Lyanna uses it alternately with her SKII Miracle Water! It must be good!

Price reasonably at $23, compared to Shen Qi Shui’s expensive miracle at over $180, I had to get it!

I know of many people who swear by SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (also known as Miracle Water) and I’ve been wanting to get one! Now that I’ve bought it, let’s see if its magic works!

I tagged along when Stephanie wanted to get a haircut at Sunshine Hair Salon. Sounds dodgy? Yeah.  But the owner / chief hair stylist is good! Friendly, caring and definitely stylish! It is also extremely affordable ($14 – $16) !

I am a happy girl! Jw’s girlfriend braved the snowstorm in Korea to help get my daily beauty essential! Hanskin’s Gold Caviar Gold BB Cream! Thank you! I hope you’ve won the battle with the notorious flu bug you caught in the snow!

hanskin bb cream

I love Hanskin’s BB cream’s

  • Texture: It is smooth and feels light on the skin!
  • Tone: It doesn’t make me look like a Geisha but gives a slightly lighten but natural looking skin!
  • Coverage: It conceals naturally yet allows my skin to breathe!
  • Additional Benefits: It has whitening, anti-wrinkle and SPF 21 benefits all in one! (Or so they claim!)

I received an email from a random colleague from our company. I realized I don’t know the sender or the other recipients. They must have sent to the wrong Serene but I was totally thrilled to have a common name this time round! HAHA.

Etude house has opened another store in Ion Orchard and using the same marketing tactics in Korea, they started giving out freebies just to make you visit the stores. But, where are the cute Korean girls and boys?

L'Oreal CPD sale

I was at the L’Oreal Beauty Sale this afternoon and gosh I bought enough haircare products to last me for months. The event wasn’t hugely publicized (which was a good thing!) and everything was in an orderly manner. Here are the loots.

sephora

I bought a bunch of Mac and Sephora cosmetics (eye colours, blusher and lippie!) using the gift vouchers that my dear friends gave me for my birthday. I love Jack – guy at the Mac counter. He’s truly professional and has an eye for colours. He also patiently taught me the various techniques in applying eye shadows. Compared to the staffs mending the Sephora Cosmetics Booth, he was much more skillful. Let’s just say the Sephora staffs made me look like an abused victim while Jack brought sparkles to my eyes.

Thank you friends for the voucher! Thank you Jack for the advice! Thank you Jason for waiting patiently while I messed up my face with fancy colours!
