May the Lord bless our little Humble Abode with lots of love, grace, laughter and strength!

I am feeling a little guilty these days because work, house and wedding planning have consumed a lot of my free time. It sucks having to work 5 ½ days week and with so little time to do all the planning, I am left with even lesser time to rest. I’ve not been attending CG for the longest time (please forgive me Lord) but I try going to church as much as possible. I am seriously hoping that all these planning can be done up quickly and I can have my regular life back! Yes, even though I’m excited with all these planning but I wish I had 8 days in a week!

We were looking for a barstool for our breakfast counter and our criteria were simple. It must be affordable, lasting and matches our Scandinavian look. When one thinks of Scandinavian, it is either designer (therefore expensive) or Ikea (which is not lasting).

Finding a suitable barstool can be rather frustrating as most of the furniture store carries chrome metal and plastic-ky bar stools. We thought we found the perfect barstool at Lush Lush. It’s sexy, very Scandinavian , made of wood and white leather seat.

The Erik Barstool. But it costs over $300 after discount for one! It is not so perfect after all. Our hunt continues and one would never expect to find anything from this mom and pop store if you pass by it.

But we found a solid wood bar stood (from Indonesia) at an affordable price! It is not exactly Scandinavian, but I guess the vintage and timeless look can (hopefully) pass it off! Best of all, it only cost $60 each! Heh.

His friend introduced this little electrical appliances trading store to him the other day and we were convinced that it is indeed cheaper than the regular electrical stores like Best Denki, Harvey Norman and Courts. We spotted a fridge at the Harvey Norman Expo sales and it was originally over $1k. But at the expo sale it was sold at close to $899 which was a decent discount. At Ever Joint Electrical Trading, it was a straight price of $835 with no need for negotiation or bargaining and so we were sold. The same warranty coverage and exact same model, sold at a price lower than an expo sale. Gosh. Apparently they are quite popular in the various local forums! If you intent to drop by this store be sure to know the exact model number that you are looking for, because their “Showroom” is rather pathetic.

We did a whole lot of stuffs for our house today!

945am Met Daddyat Eunos to take a look at the mosaic tiles sample for our breakfast counter

1030am Went Ang Mo Kio Ever Joint to buy our fridge and ceiling fan.

130pm Went Light Crafts to pick up some lamps for our place.

330pm Went EarthStone to buy mosaic tiles and cart home 4 boxes of tiles

515pm Went to our carpenter’s workshop to take a look at our breakfast counter’s table top and customized mirror

6pm Went Joo Chiat Complex and paid deposit with Jimmy’s Curtain

745pm Went to pick up our barstool from a mom and pop store (which I will introduce later.)

Remember a while back I mentioned that we won a lucky draw during one of the hotel wedding fair? It is a photo shoot package from Labelle and we just went to pick our pictures today! The pictures turn out pretty nice and I am just praying that they will not put in some cheesy layouts! Hah. We spent a total of $1500, for 55 poses and 16 double page series but since it is sort of free, it is kind of worth it? Heh. Till date, their services have been really good and my coordinator Pei Wen has been very patient with us.

Here is a sneak preview of the pictures we selected! Pardon the pixilated effects, it’s from the reflection and the iPhone’s camera. 2 gowns, 2 location. Thankfully we have less to choose because we took almost 2 hours to pick out these!

You will noticed that we did a few DIY projects for this shoot! Haha. We are going to reuse them during our wedding so keep a look out for them!

It’s a pity we have to give up Oneeyeclick for our pre-wedding because of our limited budget but fret not, because they are going to capture our actual day which is even more important!

I’m thinking of either this (above) or this (below) for my walk in near my dresser. Hee.

I like this too! Maybe for our bedroom! I think it’s therapeutic to look at a tree first thing you wake up in the morning. All from Decorette!  I have an idea which is not there, something Scandinavian.

I recently chanced upon Velsolutely Velle and found her past posts on renovation really interesting! There are a mix of high end furniture with accessories from unpretentious Ikea! Also through her blog, we found the a local wall decals website – Decorette! Will share some wall decals which we really love!

Urgh. I hate working on Saturday morning.

Nine months ago, we were stuck in an office room working on some mind-bogging complex system project and a tiny magic bean was all we each had to keep our sanity. Nine months later, all five of the stalks / bean (WM’s bean never grow) all died or abandoned to the wild except for ZN’s. Today, he gave us this. One bean each. These beans were from the same beanstalk he planted nine months back. One pod with six beans (ZN kept one at home! Thus the picture only has five!) in it. What a coincident?! Just like us back then. Six blur dudes/babes stuck in one room. HAH. I’m going to plant this little seed in my new planter box.

I bought 13 letters and a wooden bird (not in picture) from Typo today and I’m going to put it in my house! You can make a guess on where I’m putting each of these combinations! All these for $40!
