I’ve never written a New Year resolution because I’m a major procrastinator but there’s a nudging feeling that twenty ten would be different. So breaking my no new-year-resolution-nonsense record, here’s one for twenty ten.
1. To be lean and healthy.
I won’t place myself in the “fat / obese” category but my flab in my tummy and arms are reminding me of my membership in the flab club. I seriously need to reevaluate my non-existing exercise regime and diet! I shall exercise at least twice a week and to avoid fried (my greatest weakness) food whenever possible. Anyone keen to join a fitness club? Kickboxing and Yoga sounds fun!
2. To put in extra effort in my dressing whenever I’m out of the door.
The industry I’m in doesn’t exactly welcome a fashionista at work but that doesn’t mean I need to look frumpy and all! As I announced my second New Year resolution – to put in extra effort in looking my best in twenty ten – the shopaholic in me cheered together with the cash registers in stores. This resolution can be challenging especially with my personal style advisor (Sista!) happily flirting with the Swedes somewhere far away from home! BUT, I will now have the full access to all her clothes and bags! HAHA.
3. To write compliment letters for praiseworthy service personnel.
Working in a service industry made me realize the challenges service personnel faced to please customer from hell and all deserving service personnel ought to be given praises to keep them going. Therefore in twenty ten, I shall put in effort in writing compliment letters / emails for service personnel who go the extra miles in improving our local service standards.
4. To stay positive.
To stay positive in life and in work and to deal with all challenges with a smile and arms wide open!
