Ok, in order to satisfy Mr Harry’s craving to understand “weirdity” of the members in our Tabeem group, I’ve decided to contribute my share.

Six Weird Things about Serene

1) Whenever I’m watching some murder-related TV series (such as CSI), I always thought I can be a better murderer. [Theoretically.] The perfect plot that I can come out in my head.
2) I feel uneasy during my exchange to decide if I should “mug” or not. At times, I feel it’s easier in NUS where I’ll just have to study without going through the thinking process.
3) I love slapsticks and brainless activities. Please don bore me with IQ questions, Bridge (or other mentally challenging card game), serious conversation (politics, finance and my future) and documentaries. I love Chick Flicks and artistic program without using too much of my left brain.
4) I believe that looking at beautiful things will therefore make one looks better.
5)
6)

URGH. Harry, I can’t do this anymore… sat in front of my laptop for 20 minutes and I can’t think of the fifth and sixth weird things about myself. Perhaps others can fill me in on their observations of me instead. Haha.

If you are wondering why is there a lack of post recently in my blog. I’ve a confession to make! I’m addicted to the TV series Sex and the City! Not for the explicit adult content but for the slamming of guys and basically life of women in New York. I’m not sure how true the show reflects the life of these women, but I guess I like the humor in the show purely for entertainment. Haha

It has been sunny for the 4th day and I can’t help snapping pictures of the cherry blossoms like a tourist!

Took these photos 2 days ago during the Stomp the Wall event which lasted for 3 days? I’m not too sure. But it’s definitely the best event to check out cute and fit guys! Haha, they have to swim, run, cycle and finally stomp the wall!

Dawn and I decided to go for a walk around the campus today instead of staying in our room! For the very first time, I don’t have to wear my ugly black jacket! It’s so bright and sunny today! Here in Vancouver, you’ve got to suffer for 4 – 7 days of rainy days to enjoy 1-2 days of sunshine. So we’ve got to enjoy the sun while it last!

First stop, the Nitobe Memorial Garden. Walk around the small garden and sunbath on the grass patches.

Next stop, Wreck Beach again! Head down the beach via Trail 4 [The pebble beach trail] and walk along it to explore the other parts of the beach. We walk towards the metal containers and discovered a second metal container! This time round, there is a British Flag painted on it. [Can anyone tell me the history of the war? How is it possible that the Japanese and British metal container be at the same coastal lines at such close proximity? Were they alliances? Hmm.] A family was building some sand castles of the Egyptian theme along the beach! How nice! After walking for about 30 minutes we found Trail 3! A new discovery!

Went BC sushi today again! URGH!!! Costing us $25 Canadian!! I’m broke and fat and I’m still gorging myself with food!

3 reasons why I agreed to go
1) Vanier was having a prom night earlier on and there is no food for us at the café!
2) Joel has never been there before and it’s only him and Wenjing if I didn’t go. [What an odd couple.]
3) For the food of course! It’s just too tempting to resist!

Got this from Taitong’s blog. Hmm, blogging a little too much these days…

Gone to a Canadian family’s home today! It’s a nice little cozy house with 2 little children and 1 baby! Kari, who is a Canadian we knew from Every Nation Church, invited Chelsea and I to her place! Her husband who is a pastor from the church went to North Carolina for work and thus we were invited to her home to keep her company too! We had nice dinner where she served us with butter garlic carrots, mashed potatoes and roasted chicken. After dinner, we had home-baked cookies and apple strudels with tea for desserts! It’s a very nice and young Christian family. The kids were very polite and well behaved and at the same time very active too. It’s nice seeing Kari encouraging and praising her children at every little thing they do unlike parents in an Asian family.

Her elder daughter, Emily who is 6, was very independent and a good mummy’s assistant! She went to their backyard to pick some flowers for the dinning table! She even did some colourings and presented to us as a gift after dinner! How sweet!

Her second child, a boy Kalen who is 3, was very shy. From one of the picture, you can see how much he’s into hockey! Hockey is very much a Canadian culture, where every little boy dreams to be in the hockey team! Kalen often asked politely if he can pour himself a cup of water or juice, or spread the butter on the bun himself without the help of Kari. An independent child indeed compared to our pampered little prince and princess back home.

Emily is home-schooled. Thus Kari plays an important role in the children’s life; she’s not only their mother, but also their teacher. Kari choose to home-school the children and to become a full time mother because she wants her children to learn biblical knowledge besides the usual curriculums in schools. She reads the bible to her children every morning and we held hands and said a prayer before our dinner. You can really tell the differences between kids who are brought up in a Christian family and those who are not. These children were so well-loved and obedient [because they love and respect their parents so much and not out of obligations or fears like kids in Singapore].

Looking at this loving family whose daily life is focused in God definitely makes me ponder on how my own family would be like in the future. If I’m a full time mother, I would want to read the bible to my little children very morning too.

Baby, hopefully this can cheer you up! Don’t be too stress ya! Looked!! You are sooo good looking! Gorgeous! Handsome! Charming!

The first one. You’ve bear some resemblance to some ladies. Haha. So I thought I should do you some justice by trying another picture!

The Lord will brings you comfort baby!

The above was my first attempt with a photo in Jan at the airport. The results were hilarious, but the worst has yet to come. I tried another photo of mine. And guess what, I looked like a man! Hahahah…
